Today’s front-load GE washers can be complex and often require a specialized technician to diagnose and repair them properly.
Monday of this week we serviced a completely dead front-load GE washer. The customer had already replaced the power cord, but it didn’t resolve the issue. After careful inspection, I determined that the main control board had failed. The board was receiving power, but the indicator light was not flashing. (The green LED light should be flashing.) When it doesn’t flash, the control board (motherboard) needs to be replaced.
Replacing the control board can be complicated and requires patience. Be careful not to damage electrical connectors.
Once you replace the control, you will also need to program it for the specific machine you own.
If you’re having issues with your GE washer, give us a call. We would be happy to help. We service Estacada, Sandy, Welches, as well as the Gresham and Troutdale areas.
